2018-2019 Fellow: Emily Kwong | Mongolia
Emily Kwong grew up on the east coast, but traveled all the way to a rainforest in Southeast Alaska to report for Sitka’s only public radio station. Before she got hooked on radio, she studied oral traditions in South Africa and taught digital storytelling in India. She pitched us a story about climate migration among nomadic herders in Mongolia — the most sparsely populated country in the world.
2023 Update: Emily is founding reporter and co-host of NPR's Short Wave. You can follow her on Twitter @emilykwong1234
